Finally some Republicans are acknowledging reality: Trump lost and there is no evidence of overwhelming fraud. When Trump won in 2016 Republicans encouraged the nation to move forward and put the elections behind them. Now, they should be doing the same thing they did in 2016. But only a handful of Republicans have the balls to publicly admit TRUMP IS A BIG LOOSER. The rest of them privately admitted Joe Biden won the election fair and square.
SENATORS ROMNEY and SASSE have been out front on criticizing the president and his refusal to concede the election. As Trump and his allies continue to sow confusion and distrust, so far few other elected Republicans appear willing to take on the president.
A few Republican Senators have publicly admitted reality. SEN. MITT ROMNEY (R-Utah) said “Having failed to make even a plausible case of widespread fraud or conspiracy before any court of law, the President has now resorted to overt pressure on state and local officials to subvert the will of the people and overturn the election. It is difficult to imagine a worse, more undemocratic action by a sitting American President.”
SEN. BEN SASSE (R-Neb.) said “President Trump lost Michigan by more than 100,000 votes, and the campaign and its allies have lost in or withdrawn from all five lawsuits in Michigan for being unable to produce any evidence. Wild press conferences erode public trust. So no, obviously Rudy and his buddies should not pressure electors to ignore their certification obligations under the statute. We are a nation of laws, not tweets.
Even hardliners like TUCKER CARLSON admits Trump lost. TUCKER CARLSON on Thursday night said “We invited Sidney Powell, Trump’s lawyer on the show, we would have given her the whole hour, we would have given her the entire week actually and listened quietly the whole time at rapt attention.”
“But she never sent us any evidence despite a lot of requests — polite requests, not a page. When we kept pressing she got angry and told us to stop contacting her. When we checked with others around the Trump campaign, people in positions of authority, they told us, Powell has never given them any evidence either. Nor did she provide any today at the press conference. Powell did say that electronic voting is dangerous. And she’s right. We’re with her there. But she never demonstrated that a single actual vote was moved illegitimately by software from one candidate to another — not one.”–
